Three Penny Opera
I was the technical director for the University at Buffalo’s Department of Theater and Dance (UBTHD) production of Three Penny Opera. I drafted, budgeted, and lead the construction of the set. The set included multiple rolling platforms, a staircase on casters, a rotating tower, and a 32’ long bridge along the back of the stage. Each of the set pieces drafted and constructed each had their own challenges that I had to overcame and I worked closely with the Scenic Designer (Madison Sullivan) and the supporting faculty, to complete the project.

Budget
During Threepenny Opera Luke had time to begin working on his first budget template. In this document he built a material database which he could call upon automatically fill the pricing.
bridge
The bridge that made up the back of the stage during this performance was a major hurdle to over come during construction. The bridge was 12’x36’ and was 8’ tall, to load in the bridge was built in three sections. there were two 16’ sections and one 2’ section which were bolted together in the theatre. To put the legs under the bridge we overhauled two linesets that lifted the bridge with chain hoists that took the load of the bridge while the stud walls were installed.
