The page of the site is dedicated to all of the side projects I picked up while at school. Each of these projects supported one of the Yale Rep shows during my time at YSD. These projects showcase some of the technical design work I got to do to help speed up the process.
In the spring of my third year I worked on Who is Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, I worked on designing walls for the upstage of the set. The design included the technical design for a built door, door frame, and walls that were built heavy enough to resist the consistent slamming that the 3 hour production demanded.
For Between Two Knees, I helped to create the cartoon decorations around the false proscenium. Each one was an individual piece that was loaded in and attched to the proscenium. Each cut out was carved on the CNC, built from foam, plywood, and MDF.
In my second year at Yale I worked on Today is My Birthday, I worked closely with the TD team to design the structure for a partition wall 20’ wide with (3) revolving doors. The wall was connected to a counterweight system designed by Laura Copenhaver that flew the wall out above the false proscenium.
